Two days of high-volume, hands-on practice with real-time faculty feedback, organized around a framework you can actually carry — not a lecture you’ll forget by Wednesday.
These are structured skill immersions, built start to finish for Monday-morning implementation. You are not watching a technique demonstrated once. You are doing it, being corrected, and doing it again until the handling is yours.
Faster, clearer treatment decisions based on movement and symptom response
Greater precision in manual and exercise execution
Purposeful progression and regression strategies you can defend
More confident communication of your clinical reasoning
Every weekend runs the same three-part structure, regardless of region. It's the reason the skill survives the drive home.
An evidence-based framework for examination and treatment decisions — taught first, so everything that follows has somewhere to attach.
High-repetition manual handling, exercise execution, and progression logic, with faculty correcting you in the moment rather than after the fact.
Case application and coaching points you can use in clinic right away — worked as cases, not summarized on a final slide.
Board-certified orthopedic clinical specialists who are treating patients in Highbar clinics this week.
Each intensive is a complete, self-contained weekend on one region — no lab is a prerequisite for another. Dates and locations are printed here so the choice is made on this page, not inside a booking form.

Two days and $449 is a real commitment. It's worth being direct about when this is the right course and when it isn't.
The clinicians who get the most out of a weekend intensive
We'd rather tell you now than at 8am on a Saturday
Not sure this is the right fit? A half-day Core-4 lab is a lower-commitment starting point, and the 8-week regional certification goes considerably deeper than one weekend can.
Every intensive is organized around a single region, with the same emphasis on clinical reasoning, psychomotor skill, and progression logic.
Region-specific orthopedic examination and clinical reasoning
Manual therapy skill refinement with scope-conscious application
Exercise prescription and progression for the selected region
Treatment modification based on patient response
Communication, education, and shared decision-making
Case-based integration of manual therapy, exercise, and patient education
Day 1 — the model and the hands: framework first, then high-repetition manual handling and exercise execution
Day 2 — complex cases: case-based reasoning labs where the framework gets stress-tested
Real-time faculty feedback throughout, while your hands are still on the patient
Two full days together — more time per topic than any short-format lab allows
16 APTA-approved contact hours
Certificate of completion for your CE records
Documentation for employer CE reimbursement
2-day in-person regional labs
16 contact hours

Highbar Physical Therapy, 1 New London Ave, Cranston, RI
Licensed PTs and PTAs in good standing. PTAs should apply course content within the established plan of care, applicable state practice rules, and the PT/PTA collaborative model.
Both are 16 contact hours, so the hours are not the difference — the shape is. The Core-4 Bundle is four separate half-day labs, each on a different region, taken across as many months as you need. The Weekend Intensive is two full days together on one region, with more time per topic and complex case labs on day two. Choose Core-4 for foundational breadth across the body at $299. Choose a Weekend Intensive for immersive depth in a single region at $449.
No formal prerequisite, but it’s best suited to clinicians who already have foundational orthopedic assessment skills. New grads with strong clinical basics are welcome.
Yes. Licensed PTAs in good standing are welcome. Course content should be applied within the established plan of care, applicable state practice rules, and the PT/PTA collaborative model.
No. Each weekend is a complete, self-contained intensive on one region, and none is a prerequisite for another. Start with the region you treat most, or the weekend that fits your calendar.
Sixteen contact hours, APTA Massachusetts approved. CE applicability varies by state and should be verified with your own licensing board before you register.
Clothing you can move and be assessed in — you’ll be both clinician and patient model across two days of hands-on practice. Bring a notebook. Everything else is provided.
The natural next step is the 8-Week Regional Certification, which takes the same region considerably deeper over two months. Further out sit COMT for PTs and COPTA for PTAs.
Two days, 16 hours, and a framework you'll use with your next patient in that region.

1 course review
I highly recommend Highbar’s Lumbopelvic course if you want to level up your clinical reasoning and orthopedic practice. It’s not just a lecture; the case-based applications make the material easy to digest and even easier to immediate implement with patients.

Every program in the Education Hub. No exceptions.
Weekend Intensives sit partway along a pathway that runs from a $99 afternoon lab all the way to an accredited orthopedic residency, and every step of it is covered for our own clinicians. If you’re on the team, you register with your employee code and pay nothing — for this weekend, and for everything above it.
Not on the team yet? We’re a teaching practice, and this is what that looks like from the inside.
Every Weekend Intensive, free — all four regions, via your employee code
24 structured mentorship hours in your first twelve weeks, with a named mentor
One-on-one care, every patient, every session — no double-booking
A 100% residency board-pass record if you keep going up the pathway
A weekend is a deliberate middle step. If it's more commitment than you want, or less depth than you need, these are the alternatives.
Go deep in one region over 8 structured weeks. Five specialty tracks with a hands-on weekend lab.
Residency-aligned manual therapy certification with a 100% OCS pass rate among exam-takers. 184 hours.
Advanced orthopedic certification built from the ground up for PTAs — not a PT course adapted down.
Two days of repetitions, correction, and cases — and a region you'll treat differently on Monday.
