Akshay Murlidharan is the Clinic Director at Highbar Physical Therapy in Woburn, MA. He brings a dynamic and well-rounded approach to patient care. He takes a patient-centered, evidence-based approach to care, emphasizing education, movement quality, and long-term results. He is committed to creating a supportive environment where patients feel empowered throughout their rehabilitation journey in order to return to the activities that matter most to them.
Akshay earned his Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, MA. He has advanced training in Dry Needling and Neurologic Rehabilitation, allowing him to treat a wide range of conditions with both precision and a whole-body perspective.
His clinical interests include orthopedics, spine and neck pain, sports rehabilitation, wrist and hand conditions, and neurologic disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and myasthenia gravis. He also treats TMJ dysfunction, balance disorders, and post-surgical conditions, helping patients improve both function and confidence in movement.

Fluent in Hindi and Marathi, Akshay enjoys connecting with a diverse patient population and building meaningful relationships.
Outside of the clinic, Akshay is a self-proclaimed soccer enthusiast (“Come on you Gunners!”) and enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and pets. He also loves music, reading, gaming, anime, and learning random facts about the world, bringing curiosity and energy into everything he does.
