About the program
What is a dry needling certification course?
Trigger point dry needling has become a fundamental skill in every physical therapist’s toolkit. At Highbar, we want all our physical therapists to feel confident with this modality so they can provide the best possible care for their patients. Highbar’s in-house Dry Needling Certification program is designed for licensed physical therapists who want to add a powerful evidence-based tool to their practice.
It’s our goal to ensure that every therapist feels empowered to use this skill as soon as they step back into the clinic.
Our Course Structure
Many Highbar clinicians begin their journey as students. Our clinics support a structured student experience designed to build confidence, clinical reasoning, and long-term success.
- Weekend intensive course approved for 16 contact hours
- Pre-course content shared prior to course
- Provided lunch and lab manuals so clinicians can focus on learning
- Two different levels for clinicians to continue learning advanced practices
Program Objectives
What can I expect to gain from this program?
- Gain a skillset in dry needling the extremities and the spine
- Develop confidence in both when and how to dry needle your patients
- You will be ready to integrate dry needling into your practice the next day
Hear from our faculty
“Dry needling has become such an important skill for physical therapists, which is why Dry Needling Levels 1 & 2 are offered to all clinicians. Also, those who complete these courses can continue on as teaching assistants or course faculty.”

Dr. Rob Gruttaduaria PT, DPT, OCS
Residency Director
“At Highbar, we believe in providing limitless professional development opportunities to clinicians as they grow throughout their career, whether they seek to grow into leaders as Clinic Directors or as clinical leaders, mentors, and experts. The development of our own Orthopedic Residency was a natural step to continue providing opportunities not only to residents but for our clinician-leaders as mentors and faculty.”
