A wrist sprain is a stretched or torn ligament β€” usually from a fall, sports impact, or sudden twist. Physical therapy can speed up healing, restore strength, and keep the wrist from staying weak or stiff long-term.

What is a wrist sprain?

Runner's knee β€” clinically known as patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS) β€” is pain at the front of the knee, around or behind the kneecap. It develops when the kneecap isn't tracking smoothly in its groove on the thighbone.

The kneecap acts as a pulley for your quadriceps muscles. When movement becomes uneven or forces are out of balance, the cartilage underneath gets irritated and painful.

Despite the name, you don't have to be a runner to develop it. We see it in cyclists, hikers, desk workers, and anyone who has recently increased their activity level.

Good news: Most runner's knee cases are caused by how the knee is being loaded β€” not by structural damage. Targeted physical therapy works better than rest or surgery for the vast majority of cases.
